Is there any truth to the rumors that Jersey Shore star, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, really turned down an opportunity to be a part of the celebrity cast on ABC’s hit reality show, Dancing with the Stars? According to the MTV star, yes! At a press party this week, The Situation spoke candidly about his offer to strut his stuff amongst a slew of Hollywood has-beens and why he turned down the huge offer…
While in Fort Lauderdale at a press-only party launching Reebok’s Zigtech shoes on Friday, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino talked to reporters about his alleged offer to star on the new season of Dancing With the Stars. The Jersey Shore star (a self-professed guido who enjoys talking about himself in the third person) says that ABC offered him a lot of money to be a contestant on the hit reality dance competition.
Apparently, the only thing that stood in the way of The Situation was MTV producers. “They couldn’t work out the details and MTV said no,” The Situation said. “It’s too bad because I wanted to do it.”
So instead of seeing the way-too-tanned reality star baring his abs on the dance floor, fans will have to settle for seeing the way-too-tanned reality star baring his abs on the beach. MTV recently announced that Jersey Shore will return for a second season (with the same controversial cast) but will be relocating to a much warmer destination. The second season of Jersey Shore returns to MTV this summer. The new (Situation-less) season of Dancing With the Stars returns to ABC on March 22nd.
