When it comes to looking hot while being pregnant, Project Runway‘s host Heidi Klum is the ultimate authority. The sexy mother of four–Leni, 5, Henry, 4, Johan, 3, and Lou, 4 months, with husband Seal–knows a thing or two about fashion and pregnancy so it only makes sense that she would put her skills to use and design not one, but two maternity lines. Keep reading to find out about her super hot mommy designs…
“I always felt like no one makes good pants for pregnant women,” Project Runway host Heidi Klum, 36, says. “They always have to wear the ‘mommy jeans’ and they’re never super tight or super hot. There are a lot of hot mamas out there, so why not give them something fun?”
The supermodel and reality TV star has just released two new maternity lines to be sold at A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood respectively. Lavish by Heidi Klum and Loved by Heidi Klum hit stores on Friday.
“Lavish is definitely a higher price point,” says Klum. “The woman who shops at A Pea and the Pod is a different woman than one who shops at Motherhood. The Pea and the Pod woman is… a working pregnant mom that goes to the office or goes to a lot of gallery events — is a little more out and about.”
Her Loved by Heidi Klum line is available at Motherhood. “I think the Motherhood mother is maybe more casual, so I did more jeans and easier tops,†she goes on. “The price points are different because, you know, leather is more expensive than cotton. Not that they’re both not stylish.”
Klum found it particularly difficult to find fashionable maternity clothes while filming Project Runway. ”A lot of the things [that were out when I was pregnant] were just boring, especially being in the public eye and being on the stage. I’ve been pregnant on Project Runway two or three times and it’s difficult because we shoot so many episodes,” she says. “I didn’t want to just be sweet. I wanted to look cool and cutting edge a bit.”
The stylish new maternity lines are in stores now.
