The Real Housewives of New York City is returning for a third season to Bravo on March 4 with the promise of more drama, new cast members, and all kinds of catfights! Two of the Bravo reality show’s stars, Jill Zarin and Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, talk about what viewers can expect of the shocking new season…
The Real Housewives of New York City is never short on drama and based on the previews, season three looks to be one of the most dramatic seasons to date! Two of the show’s stars, Jill Zarin and Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, dish on the biggest blowouts, newest housewives, and most emotional moments coming up.
In season three of Bravo‘s The Real Housewives of New York City, fans can expect to see some major brawling with show regular, Bethenny Frankel. Both Zarin and de Lesseps have major catfights with Frankel within the first few episodes. Regarding her struggle with Frankel, de Lesseps says, “I just tell her what is on my mind and she doesn’t seem to like it too much. There are shifts of alliances going on this season, and we have our issues and we work on them.”
As for Zarin (who has been Frankel’s closest friend in seasons past), she talks of their feud as though it’s irreconcilable, saying, “It wasn’t just one thing….I am not that petty and I’m not that immature to let one thing come between me and a real friend, so you have to trust me when I say that it wasn’t one thing. It was 6-8 months of just stuff that accumulated. You have to watch to see what happens, things change and that is all in the first episode.”
The housewives put aside their differences (momentarily at least) to welcome two new cast members to The Real Housewives of New York City this season: single mother, Sonia Morgan and married entrepreneur, Jennifer Gilbert. So what did Zarin and de Lesseps think of the new additions? Zarin says, “I think they are great girls and I think they are a great addition to the show,” adding that one of the women has become “a lifelong friend that I have a connection to.” De Lesseps agrees, especially when it comes to her friend, Jennifer Gilbert, who she knew before filming began. “She is a lot of fun, she adds a little ‘Sex In The City’ to the mix, a little crazy but fun!” de Lesseps says.
This season of The Real Housewives of New York City will also feature some emotional and painful moments like de Lesseps’ divorce and Zarin’s husband’s battle with cancer. Regarding her divorce, de Lesseps says, “Well, I’m very sad of course that things didn’t work out, but I’m moving forward and keeping my chin up, you know, being there for my kids and dating again.” Regarding her husband’s battle with cancer, Zarin says, “He is fine now, but at the time it was really horrific.” Fans can expect to see a more emotional side of her the sharp-tongued housewife this season. Zarin says, “I have a lot of emotional breakdowns. I’m not as strong as people think I am, so it was rough.”
