Giuliana & Bill Rancic have been very open on their Style network reality show about their struggles to get pregnant. Now the reality stars open up about with the ladies on The View about going through in vitro fertilization. Keep reading to find out all the details…
E! correspondent Giuliana Rancic and businessman husband, Bill Rancic, stars of the Style network reality show, Giuliana & Bill, stopped by The View today to chat with the women about their struggles to conceive. The couple, who has been trying to get pregnant for over a year now, has announced that they will be undergoing in vitro fertilization beginning next week.
Giuliana’s main obstacle to getting pregnant? Her age. The 35-year-old E! TV host says she didn’t think she would have any problems getting pregnant at this stage in life since she’s interviewed celebs for years who seem to have no issues conceiving at 35 or 40. Giuliana has realized though that many of those stars have had a little assistance.
“A lot of these women get IVF, and they just don’t talk about it,” she says. “And listen, celebrities are entitled to their privacy. I’m not saying ‘shame on you for not talking about it.’ But if we can talk about it and let women know that it’s OK, look at all your options.”
Another issue facing the Giuliana & Bill star is her weight. Her doctor suggested she try to gain 5-10 pounds, no small feat for the style-obsessed star. ”He said 5-10 pounds, which I know isn’t a big deal and if you want to have a baby you should do whatever it takes. I had to bite that bullet. You have to understand something. I work out everyday of my life, I love feeling good, waking up, working out. I finally did gain the 5 pounds. We’re working on more.”
When View co-host, Whoopi Goldberg, challenged Giuliana’s reluctant attitude toward the weight gain, the reality star responded, ”I’m on television every day. You know, I have a stylist who’s pretty hard on me who brings me sample sizes. Every single day I’m on the air, and he’s bringing me clothes. Listen, I’m a very open person, I’m insecure. You know, I’m insecure like a lot people are and I can talk about that.”
Fortunately Barbara Walters was there to make everything better, telling Giuliana, ”We don’t want to tell you how to live your life. 5 pounds or 10 pounds, you’re lovely.”
