As The Real Housewives of New York City gears up for its third season on Bravo, fans are going to see that a lot has changed for the housewives. Most notably, Bethenny Frankel who is expecting her first baby with fiancee, Jason Hoppy. A baby isn’t the only thing the chef’s cooking up. She talks about her new book, the new season of Real Housewives, and her new spin-off…
Fans of Bravo‘s The Real Housewives of New York City have witnessed as chef Bethenny Frankel has thrived in her professional life but repeatedly struck out in her personal life. All of that is about to change now that the Skinnygirl creator has found love and has a baby on the way! Don’t worry…her career’s not exactly hurting either. With a new cookbook, The Skinnygirl Dishes, a new season of The Real Housewives of New York City, and a Bravo spin-off in the works, Frankel certainly has her hands full. She recently spoke with People about her pregnancy cravings, Housewives’ drama, and new projects.
When it comes to the baby, Frankel says, “We haven’t really figured out what we are doing about the baby’s room. We are both clueless.” It doesn’t help that they’re keeping the baby’s gender a surprise. “I want to know what I’m having but my fiancé won’t let me find out. My fans think it is a boy. They say a girl steals your beauty and I don’t look deformed yet,” Frankel jokes.
When it comes to her pregnancy eating habits, the Real Housewives of New York City star says, “I’m craving orange juice. And split pea soup — it is like somebody else eating hot fudge. I could die over it. I had a moment a few days ago with a corn beef sandwich. It was like food porn. I was enjoying it so much that it should have been illegal.”
The pregnancy hormones certainly contributed to some of the drama that fans can expect on the third season of Bravo‘s The Real Housewives of New York City. “It was a really crazy season. I don’t know how they could top it. Being pregnant and emotional it was impossible. There are a lot of things turned upside down. Alliances have changed and friendships have had some tests. Not everything is the same as it was last season,” Frankel teases. This may be the last season that fans will see Frankel on the Bravo reality show, but she’ll be returning to TV soon with her own spin-off show. ”If I know Bravo and if they know me, I just think it will be the truth, which is the balance between career and relationships and all things in between,” Frankel says about her yet-to-be-named reality show.
In addition to a new baby, new drama, and a new show, Frankel also has a new book out titled The Skinnygirl Dishes. What can fans expect from the cookbook? “All the food [in the book] is really easy [to make]. I take fattening recipes like spinach and artichoke dip and guacamole and renovate. Every recipe was born with what I have at my house.”
