The Biggest Loser: History Is Made As Blue Versus Black Begins Tonight!
March 02, 2010 09:30 PM by Lisa Princ

After a two week break for the Olympics, Ali Sweeny & The Biggest Loser are back on NBC tonight with an all new episode. With power struggles beginning to brew and tensions filling the air, Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper are in for a surprise and a challenge of their own this week. So which two, yes two losers will be heading off the ranch this week? This is one episode you don’t want to miss as we also witnessed history being made on the show! Keep reading for all the fitness & drama filled details!
The Biggest Loser on NBC started off the evening with the continuation of last time: Darrell and Cheryl competing in their Olympic challenge to see who would remain on the ranch and who would be sent packing. After almost 10 minutes of holding their light torches on their heads, Darrell can no longer take the knee pain and buckles leaving Cheryl the winner of the challenge. Darrell is shown later in the episode on his journey since leaving The Biggest Loser ranch where he is currently weighing in at 293 lbs, for a total weight loss of 120 lbs. Way to go Darrell, who looks wonderful and he claims he will be around 200 lbs by the finale..I cannot wait to see if he proves true to that.
As The Biggest Loser contestants join Ali Sweeny, they are confused as they are greeted by cookies and a memory board. Ali quickly fills them in that this is a temptation challenge and asks that they raise hands if they plan on participating before she reveals the challenge. The only contestants who are willing to participate after seeing a mound of chocolate chip cookies are Michael and Andrea. They are then informed that this week the teams shift to blue versus black as they have seen in past seasons. The winner of the temptation challenge will be in charge of choosing teams and choosing one immune person, who would end up on the losing team after weigh in and elimination.
The memory board on The Biggest Loser on NBC was chock full of sweet, high calorie treats as well as 2 golden tickets. Whoever matched the two golden tickets first would win the challenge. But that wasn’t all……each time a match was made of treats, the other contestant would have to consume those treats and for each time they did not make a match, that contestant would have to eat a cookie. Andrea & Michael battled it out, each getting a few treat matches, but Michael pulled through and won the challenge as he found both golden tickets. That, however came with a huge price as he wound up consuming around 2300 calories of treats, and Andrea consumed around 1200..hopefully they could get in enough exercise so that this would not hurt them at the weigh in this week.

Michael, who was thrilled to have won the challenge, now had the responsibility of putting together the blue team, who would work out with Bob and the black team, who would work out with Jillian. After a few minutes of thinking it all over on The Biggest Loser on NBC, Michael decided to play into the game and lookout for himself only. He decided to put together what he thought would be a powerhouse team, the blue team and put the weaker players on the black team. The black team was made up of Andrea, Cheryl, Sherry, Ashley, Stephanie and Sam.
On the blue team he decided to put Sunshine, Lance, Miggy, Daris, and Koli. With only two left: himself and Oneal, Michael decided to play in even further as he gave Oneal immunity, so he could secure his own spot on what he deemed the stronger team. Needless to say many of the contestants were very upset by his decision as he split up teams and put some to workout with the fitness trainer they did not want only to benefit himself.
Now that the blue versus black was set up on The Biggest Loser on NBC, the teams had to prove they could work as teams as they were up for their next fitness challenge: pulling a colored flag up a few stories from the top of a building. Both teams struggled, and while it looked as the black team was out to prove themselves, they ultimately could not keep up with the blue team. The blue team ended up winning the fitness challenge which entitled them to letters from home as well the immunity to the team player with the highest percentage of weight loss this week. I have to say I am definitely pulling for the underdog, or the black team this week.
Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper were both thrown for a loop tonight on The Biggest Loser with the blue versus black teams. Jillian Michaels who completely pissed by the disadvantage, vowed to work the black team the best she could so that the underdog would come out on top. Infuriated, she worked them extremely hard with both exercise and diet this week, giving them some healthy food options. Jillian Michaels went on to let everyone know how this brought out that fat girl she used to be and that pissed her off….I hope she can pull this one off.

So now it was time for the new teams to weigh in and this how their diet and exercise helped this week:
Oneal from 325 to 316 (-9) (had immunity for the 3rd week in a row and not on a team yet)
The Blue Team:
Miggy from 199 to 195 (-4)
Michael from 432 to 417 (-15) *this is a new biggest loser record
Lance from 305 to 300 (-5)
Daris from 274 to 267 (-7)
Koli from 326 to 316 (-10)
The Black Team
Andrea from 255 to 250 (-5)
Cheryl from 191 to 187 (-4)
Sherry from 177 to 171 (-6)
Same from 298 to 290 (-8)
Ashley from 311 to 301 (-10)
So as the blue versus black battle began, history has been made on The Biggest Loser on NBC as Michael has lost 109 lbs in 7 weeks, breaking the previous record of 100 lbs. Congratulations to Michael, what an inspiration!
This, however also has left the blue team, who thought they were the stronger of the two teams at the bottom of tonight’s battle. The blue team lost 48 lbs total for a percentage of 2.7%, while the black team lost a total of 41 lbs for a percentage of 2.82%. Way to go black team and Jillian Michaels, I knew you could do it!!
So now it was elimination time on The Biggest Loser on NBC after our blue versus black battle has ended. The blue team would have to vote on one player to be sent home. Michael, however could not be sent home since he had the highest percentage of weight loss on his team thus giving him immunity. As the votes came in, it was neck in neck between Lance and Miggy, but in the end, Miggy was the weakest link and would be sent home after Koli claimed that despite his low loss, Lance was a hard worker and player. Since the show, Miggy is down from 240 lbs to 179 lbs and still working hard, way to go Miggy!
