Dancing With The Stars: The Bachelor’s Jake Pavelka Is Ready To Compete

The Bachelor‘s Jake Pavelka will definitely have one fan rooting for him on ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars: fiancee Vienna Girardi. Pavelka began rehearsing this week with partner Chelsie Hightower and discusses how he landed the gig on Dancing With the Stars, his biggest dancing fear, who he is excited to work with, and his supportive fiancee…
Fans of ABC‘s The Bachelor were shocked and excited to see that Jake Pavelka was chosen as a contestant on the tenth season of Dancing With the Stars. The Bachelor himself was a little surprised as well. “It just fell into my lap and I’m glad it did,” Pavelka said. And those of you that think the handsome commercial pilot is simply after fame need to think again. “The cameras are not what I’m after, it’s the competition. What an opportunity. I just can’t imagine being able to dance at that level and have the opportunity to dance with professionals. It’s conquering a life dream,” he said.
Pavelka admits to being a little trepidatious going into his stint on Dancing With the Stars. “I’ve been lifting weights since I was 15 years old and my muscles … are not made to be graceful and glide around a dance floor. Getting hurt, that’s my biggest fear because my body’s not built to dance,” The Bachelor admits.
Regardless of how long Pavelka survives on ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars, fiancee Vienna Girardi promises to be there to support him. “The performances are on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I’ll definitely be there every night he’s performing. I’m actually going to try to do some motivational speaking for young women while I’m in L.A,” Girardi says. Uhh, motivational speaking, huh? Interesting.
Pavelka and his partner, Chelsie Hightower began rehearsing this week. The pilot says he’s excited to meet the celebrity cast, especially Buzz Aldrin because “he’s an aviator guy. A little more so than I am, actually. Out of this world!” he joked. Although he’s thrilled to be a part of Dancing With the Stars, Pavelka plans to return to his piloting career after the show ends. “I love flying. That is what I am born to do,” he says.
