Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney have made history as the first couple from ABC‘s The Bachelor to tie the knot. (Married couple Ryan and Trista Sutter met on The Bachelorette). Jason and Molly’s lavish wedding took place last Saturday and fans will be able to see all the romantic details this Monday night on ABC‘s The Bachelor: Jason & Molly’s Wedding Special. Keep reading for a sneak peek into the day that’s made Molly “the happiest I have ever been.”
ABC‘s The Bachelor finally has a successful couple to brag about! After 14 seasons, there’s finally been a marriage from the reality dating competition. Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney met on the show’s 13th season and although they had a bit of a tumultuous and unpopular start to their relationship (he chose runner-up Molly after first proposing to Melissa Rycroft then dumping her on national television before asking Molly for a second chance), the pair is now husband and wife!
The Bachelor‘s Jason Mesnick married Molly Malaney last Saturday, February 27th, at the beautiful Terranea Resort, situated on the coast of Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Molly donned a gorgeous $45,000 Monique Lhuillier gown, walked down the aisle to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” performed by American Idol‘s Jason Castro, and endured a brief rainstorm during the ceremony but says she wouldn’t change a thing.
“I loved every minute of the rain,” the new Mrs. Mesnick says. ”It started to rain in the middle of the ceremony, right when I was starting to say our vows. We looked at each other and laughed. It made the day far more special than it ever could have been.” As for the strapless designer gown she wore, Molly says, ”I felt good in it. She thought I looked wonderful in it, but we custom-made a few more design elements to the dress.”
One of the more unique moments of The Bachelor wedding day was the untraditional song choice as Molly walked down the aisle. “I always knew when I walked down the aisle, I did not want to walk to the typical wedding march song,” Molly says. “I wanted something more modern. Jason and I both loved the rendition of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ that Jason Castro sings. It was an easy choice to see if he would do this favor for us. He was phenomenal.”
The new Mr. and Mrs. Mesnick are honeymooning in South Africa and loving every moment of being husband and wife. ”A friend asked me just yesterday, ‘Is it any different being a Mrs.?” Molly says. “Going into the wedding, I didn’t think life would be different because we already lived together. I was so wrong. I am the happiest I have ever been. I look at Jason differently. He makes me feel differently. Married life is the best feeling in the world and I wish it for everyone.”
