American Idol: Haeley Vaughn Wants To Work With Disney
March 08, 2010 02:00 PM by Nancy Floyd

With each new season of American Idol, it becomes more and more apparent that even the smallest amount of air time or success on the FOX singing competition is enough for aspiring stars to secure fame. One recently ousted contestant, 16-year old Haeley Vaughn, is trying to stretch her fifteen minutes of fame by buttering up Disney. Keep reading to find out the teen’s BIG dreams…
Haeley Vaughn was one of four contestants eliminated this week on FOX‘s American Idol. Despite the fact that she didn’t secure a spot in the American Idol finals, Vaughn is milking every interview she can and working toward another dream: starring on the Disney channel. In her exit interviews, Vaughn told the press about her love and admiration for the kid-friendly network and the stars she looks up to the most.
“I’m definitely going to keep working on my career. I’m going to keep singing, and hopefully doors will open up for me. I’m a really big fan of Disney and Disney Channel so that’s something I hope comes up,” Vaughn told reporters. ”I love Disney, and if I was given a chance to work with them, I’d love it…Miley Cyrus, I love her! With Disney, I would love to be on a show. My favorite show is Hannah Montana; that’s a really big inspiration for me.”
Haeley Vaughn isn’t the only booted American Idol contestant with big dreams post-Idol. Eliminated singer, Michelle Delamor, says, “I’m staying in L.A. I’m doing everything I can to make something big out of this. And you’ll see me again doing something big one day, I promise.” As for what’s next for her, the 22-year old said, “I am really big in fashion! I want to get started on my clothing line, which will be glam-funk kind of clothing, kind of playful and girly.”
Haeley Vaughn and Michelle Delamor aren’t the only aspiring stars hoping to use the momentum from their American Idol experience to fuel their careers. Chris Golightly and Angela Martin are trying to prove that a person doesn’t even need to make it to the American Idol Top 24 to find fame. These two were booted at the end of Hollywood Week but are using their newfound fame to jumpstart their own careers. Golightly is shopping a memoir titled Orphan about his heartbreaking upbringing, while Martin is working with American Idol judges Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi to land a record deal.
