Dancing With The Stars: Brooke Burke Is the New Co-Host

On March 22nd, ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars isn’t only going to be welcome 11 new celebrity competitors, it’s also going to welcome a new co-host, Brooke Burke. Burke has been hired to replace former co-host Samantha Harris, who announced earlier this year that she was leaving the show. Keep reading to find out all the details about Burke’s new job…
The search for Samantha Harris’ replacement is over! ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars has announced that Brooke Burke will join Tom Bergeron for hosting duties when the tenth season airs on March 22nd. Producers of ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars have been scrambling to find a replacement for Harris, who announced in January that she was leaving. The search was reportedly narrowed down to three hopeful co-hosts: former Dancing With the Stars contestant, Melissa Rycroft, TV host Vanessa Minillo, and of course, Burke herself.
Burke is no stranger to ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars‘ stage. She competed with dance pro Derek Hough in season 7 and took first place! Fellow co-host, Tom Bergeron, thinks her previous experience on the dance competition will give her an edge. “She’ll be able to talk to the couples backstage with the perspective of having been there herself,†says Bergeron.
Burke is certainly comfortable as a host. The former model is best known as the host of Wild On, but she’s also had hosting gigs on Rock Star: INXS and Rock Star: Supernova. Apparently though, nothing compares to landing a gig on ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars. About the new job, Burke said, “Today is one of the most exciting days ever!!! With the exception of my family and children, today tops the list of all my professional endeavors!!! I was sworn to secrecy until the GMA announcement and the ABC press release went out. So now that it’s public… I am thrilled beyond words to have landed the co-host gig for Dancing With the Stars!”
ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars returns for a tenth season on March 22nd.
