March 09, 2010 08:00 AM by Nancy Floyd

Sexy soap star, Aiden Turner, is just one of the tough competitors on the upcoming season of ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars. In a recent interview, the star sized up his competition and said he’s “in it to win it.” Keep reading for more details about what he really thinks about his competition and his first (negative) reaction to his partner, Edyta Sliwinska…

ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars is set to premiere its tenth season on March 22nd, but the eleven celebrities vying for the crown are already hard at work. In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, soap star Aiden Turner chats about his experience thus far working with dance pro, Edyta Sliwinska.

All My Children star, Aiden Turner, wasn’t exactly thrilled when he found out his dance pro partner on ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars was going to be Edyta Sliwinska. The Brit says, “I saw her and I thought ‘oh my god, this is not gonna be good’ cause I didn’t think she was as nice and as understanding and as patient and as accommodating but she’s all those things.” Apparently that’s a good thing for Turner who says, “I can be quite sensitive sometimes.”

After practicing together for six hours a day, Turner has noting but great things to say about his dance partner. “She’s one of the most amazing dancers out there in the world. She’s a great professional. Not only that, she’s very patient with me. She’s very sweet, down to earth,” he says.

As for the competition this season on ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars, Aiden Turner says, “I’m in it to win it and I’m going to try my damn hardest but have you seen the competition this year? This is not, like, a normal Dancing With the Stars for God’s sake.” He then went on to critique some of his celebrity competitors individually.

“They have this Olympian gold medalist. I mean, he knows how to hold his arms. Jake The Bachelor is pretty fit. I’m kinda worried about him but not really,” Turner says. Joking about another contestant, Turner quips, “If Buzz Aldrin pulls a moonwalk, I’m screwed.” What about the ladies in the competition? Turner definitely isn’t ruling out Jon & Kate plus 8 star, Kate Gosselin, saying “She’s a real vixen, I mean, she’s had 8 children. If you can do that, wow, you’ve obviously got a lot of stamina. Tough girl.”

As for who the real threat is going to be, Aiden Turner is going to wait to find out like the rest of us. “After the first time we dance on March 22nd, I’ll have a better idea,” he says. For more on Turner’s Dancing With the Stars experience, watch the full interview here.
