Reality TV mom, Kate Gosselin, former star of Jon & Kate plus 8, has been outspoken about her priorities on the upcoming season of ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars. She wants to win, but not at the expense of her family. The single mom went so far as to build a makeshift dance studio in the basement of her Pennsylvania home to allow her to be near her eight kids, but sources close to the family are saying that Kate’s obsession with fame is tearing her family apart.
America became well-acquainted with the Gosselin family on TLC’s Jon & Kate plus 8 but a lot has changed since the show first aired. For starters, Kate Gosselin and her husband, Jon are now divorced and the pair have become household names. Kate Gosselin is hoping to increase her star power by starring on the tenth season of ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars, but insiders claim that her grueling schedule is already taking it’s toll on her eight children.
With Kate’s home in Pennyslvania and ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars filming in Los Angeles, the reality TV mom is spending a minimum of three days a week across the country from her eight children. According to sources close to the Gosselins, the kids have been asking, “when is Mommy coming home?” Kate was reportedly gone from February 21 to March 5 leaving the kids entrusted to five nannies in her absence.
Even with the extra help, the Gosselin children seem to be acting out while Kate is away working on ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars. Twins Cara and Maddy “seem depressed when Kate isn’t around,” a source says, adding that five-year old boys Aaden, Collin, and Joel “got into trouble at school for talking back to teachers.”
Kate seems determined in her quest to “be a huge star,” justifying her behavior by comparing herself to celebrity parents, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie! ”She says Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have lots of kids and their parents are away for long periods, working to support them,” a source says. Kate still says that she’s making her kids a priority though, despite her new job. ”The whole goal is obviously to be at home as much as I can and I’ll come home back-and-forth each week. If I can cook dinner and dance, I’ll be doing really well,” the Jon & Kate plus 8 star explains.
