Anoop Desai may not have won the eighth season ofÂ American Idol but that’s not stopping him from continuing to chase his dream. The singer is set to release a new single titled My Name on March 23rd and it’s just the first among many songs that will be available to fans in the coming months. Anoop Desai finished in sixth place onÂ American Idol‘s eighth season and even though he hasn’t landed a record deal yet, the star is set to release a new single and an EP this spring. His first single titled My Name will be released on March 23rd. Those in attendance of New York City Fashion Week got a sneak peek at the new song which is a unique mix of pop, R&B, and Indian influences.Â ”The chorus is ‘I’ll have you calling my name,’?”Â Anoop Desai says about the song. “In one sense it’s seductive, in the other it’s a declaration of all the people who made fun of me before.”
A new single isn’t the only thing in store forÂ American Idol finalist,Â Anoop Desai. He also has an EP that’s slated to be released the first week of May. The album titledÂ All is Fair, which includes six tracks,Â will be released on iTunes and Amazon on May 4.Â ”The album has a pop/R&B feel,” he says. “I’m straddling the line between a Jordin Sparks-type thing and a Trey Songz-type thing. That’s where I’ve always felt comfortable.”
Anoop Desai is independently releasing the EP and has a unique plan moving forward. To keep things fresh and exciting for fans of theÂ American Idol star,Â Anoop Desai plans to release new EPs every six months through iTunes and Amazon.
