Bethenny Frankel, star of Bravo‘s The Real Housewives of New York City, knows one thing for sure about the upcoming labor and delivery of her firstborn child: “there will be drugs involved,” she says. The reality TV star, who is due in June, talks about the details of her delivery, the advice she’s been getting from fellow celebs and her Real Housewives of New York City co-stars, and how supportive and excited her fiance, Jason Hoppy, has been…
Pregnancy was certainly not in the plans for Bravo‘s The Real Housewives of New York City‘s star, Bethenny Frankel, but that hasn’t stopped her from embracing the new season of life and preparing for the delivery as much as possible! Frankel, who is also currently planning a wedding with fiance (and baby daddy) Jason Hoppy for a Bravo spin-off show, knows that she definitely wants drug at the birth. Saying she doesn’t “need to be a hero,” Frankel adds that “I’m too neurotic to give birth in my bathtub. I’d be like, ‘How are we going to clean this mess up?’ In the middle of labor, I’d be telling my assistant to get Brillo pads.”
As for whether or not she’s taking any birthing classes to prepare, The Real Housewives of New York City‘s star says, “I do yoga, so I think I’ll be okay. I don’t think I will do breathing classes. Either I’ve had what I think is an easy pregnancy, or everyone is overly dramatic. I’m not the obsessed pregnant person,†Frankel, 39, explains. “I’m not the first person who has ever been pregnant, and I won’t be the last.â€
Speaking of dramatic women, Frankel admits she’s been getting advice from some of her Real Housewives of New York City‘s co-stars including Alex McCord, who offered to throw her baby shower, and Ramona Singer who, according to Frankel, has been very supportive. ”She’s been like, ‘You have to sit down. You have to put your seat belt on,’” Frankel says about Singer. “She’s very nurturing and even asked to be in the delivery room, which I’m laughing at.” Frankel has also received tips from celebrity Lisa Rinna who offered advice on nursing telling the mom-to-be to “rub my nipples with a dry towel during the last six weeks of pregnancy” to prepare them for the typical breast-feeding soreness.
According to Frankel, her fiance, Jason Hoppy, is getting extra prepared by reading What to Expect When You’re Expecting, but the Real Housewives of New York City‘s star says he’s already a great dad. ”He puts his head on the belly and talks to the baby, which is really cute,” Frankel says. “He’ll be like, ‘Hi baby. We can’t wait to meet you.’”
