The Biggest Loser: Going Home

March 23, 2010 07:30 PM by Lisa Princ

Tonight on The Biggest Loser on NBC the contestants are sent home for a week, yes home! They will have a full week unsupervised and have to make the right choices in both exercise and food… but will they be able to without the help of Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper? Of course, if you think they would have any easy week with no challenges, you may want to rethink that! Keep reading for all the details of this fun & fitness filled week at home!

The contestants of The Biggest Loser on NBC are sent home this week. They have a full week at home to spend with their families and friends, while trying to maintain their healthy lifestyles. Some of the homecomings were very emotional, such as Michael who was still waiting to see his grandmother wake up so she could see his weight loss. Most of the contestants did very well working out and making healthy food choices while at home without Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper pushing them.

They, however would not be going the entire week without a challenge, I mean, this is a game afterall, right? As soon they were finished greeting their families and friends at home, the contestants of The Biggest Loser on NBC were also greeted by a large exercise bike as well as a box of cupcakes and a video from Ali. In the video Ali gives them their fitness challenge: show your family & friends that you can ride a bike for 26.2 miles just as you did on your first day at the ranch. The fastest time would be the winner, but they would not be playing for immunity this time, instead they would be playing for $10k.

Ah, but the challenge on The Biggest Loser on NBC would not come without a twist…..the cupcakes were the temptation part of the challenge. For every cupcake eaten, that contestant could add 5 minutes onto any other contestant’s time. Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper would be proud as most of the contestants refused to eat any cupcakes even though they were at home, they were too afraid it would affect their weight loss. Lance, however ate way too many followed by Andrea and Michael. The fitness challenge itself ended with Sam in 1st place, Koli in 2nd and Lance in 3rd. Sam got pushed down to last place however since he received many cupcake minutes. Koli, did not receive any cupcake minutes, therefore he won the challenge and the $10k.

Then it was back to the ranch after their week home on The Biggest Loser on NBC where they were greeted by Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper for their last chance fitness workout. During their exercise, Bob Harper noticed something was up with Lance, and took him outside to chat where Lance admitted he was overcome with guilt about leaving his family. Bob Harper reiterated how important it was for his family that Lance be here and Lance picked himself up and gave it his all.

Now it was weigh in time on The Biggest Loser on NBC. Let’s see how our contestants fared this week while they were at home.

The Blue Team:

Oneal from 302 to 295 (-7)
Michael from 397 to 389 (-8)
Lance from 282 to 274 (-8)
Daris from 248 to 244 (-4) *reached the 100 lb loss mark this week
Koli from 297 to 287 (-10)
Sunshine from 216 to 208 (-8)

for a total weight loss of 45 lbs and 2.58%

The Black Team

Andrea from 238 to 232 (-6)
Sam from 278 to 264 (-14) *reached the 100 lb loss mark this week
Ashley from 286 to 276 (-10)
Stephanie from 208 to 199 (-9)

for a total weight loss of 39 lbs and 3.86%

This meant we have 2 more 100lb losers on The Biggest Loser on NBC. A huge congrats to both Daris and Sam this week for reaching that 100 lb mark! This also meant however, that the blue team was up for elimination since those girls and Sam rocked it at home this week. Michael and Daris were both nervous about getting sent home, and Michael pleaded just how much he needed to be at the ranch since he was still so far away from his goal. Daris did not say too much, but you could see the fear in his face. Sunshine was the only safe one on the team as she had the highest percentage of weight loss this week on her team.

The room was silent on The Biggest Loser on NBC as Ali greeted the blue team. Koli was the first to vote, and he voted for Lance. Michael, up next also voted for Lance, while Lance voted for Michael. Oneal was the next voter and also voted for Lance. When it was Daris’ turn and knowing Lance only needed one more vote to go home, Daris burst into tears as he read off his reason as he was also voting for Lance. To date, Lance has lost over 100lbs and looks great! He is very happy being able to spend more quality time with his family, as well as keeping up his fitness and he hopes to be down to 220 lbs by the finale. Can’t wait to see him there!
