Fans ofÂ American Idol judgeÂ Ellen DeGeneres will be pleased to know they can find an illustrated version of her life story. The comedienne and daytime talk show host is releasing a comic with Bluewater Productions for their Female Force collection. The comic, which will retail for $3.99, will be available this Wednesday and a portion of the proceeds are going to an organization near and dear to theÂ American Idol judge’s heart: The Humane Society of the United States.
“Ellen has been a leading force for animal protections issues,” Michael Markarian, chief operating officer of the HSUS, said in a statement acknowledgingÂ Ellen DeGeneres for her generous contributions.
The new comic book follows the life story ofÂ American Idol judgeÂ Ellen DeGeneres, from her upbringing in Louisiana to her success as a stand-up comedienne to her television fame. The Humane Society connection is explained in the comic book which highlightsÂ Ellen DeGeneres‘ lifelong love of animals and her childhood desire to be a veterinarian.
The illustrated comic book is 38 pages long and wasÂ written by Sandra C. Ruckdeschel with drawings by Pedro Ponzo. Among the illustrations are sketches fromÂ American Idol judgeÂ Ellen DeGeneres‘ wedding to actress, Portia De Rossi. The Female Force series has previously released editions on Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Hillary Clinton.
