American Idol fans were not happy to see adorable front-runner, Alex Lambert, leave the singing competition so early in the season. In fact, they were so outraged, they started a petition to plead for his return which garnered over 20,000 signatures! The petition worked…sort of. Alex Lambert has been nabbed by Idol creator, Simon Fuller, to star in a web series called If I Can Dream. Keep reading for more details on Lambert’s new gig, how he’ll decorate his room, and what he likes to do with his (sob) girlfriend…
Alex Lambert was the adorable 19-year old Texas native with the incredible voice. A seemingly early front-runner on this season of American Idol, fans were shocked when he was sent home just before making the Top 20. Fortunately, he’s not disappearing. Lambert adorers will have the chance to watch him 24-7 on the new web series, If I Can Dream, created by American Idol‘s producer Simon Fuller.
If I Can Dream is a reality web series following six aspiring stars as they live together in the Hollywood Hills. Alex Lambert will be sharing a home with Miley Cyrus’ ex, Justin Gaston, aspiring model Giglianne Braga, and actors Kara Kilmer, Amanda Phillips, and Ben Elliott. The six can be watched 24-7 via live streaming on the If I Can Dream website, with new episodes available weekly on Hulu. The webisodes will give Lambert fans a chance to see a less shy side of the American Idol star. “I don’t think I’m too shy. At home I’m not really shy, it’s just that this whole experience is so new to me. Once I get more confident I don’t think I’ll be shy at all,” Lambert says.
First things first: how will Lambert decorate his room in the If I Can Dream house? “I’m gonna [put] Bob Marley, Elvis and Beatles posters up and a picture of my grandfather. People up who inspire me,” he says. One person who inspires him is girlfriend, Raylee. “She really understands me and believes in me. I’m kind broke so we never go out anywhere fancy, but usually I just jam out and she tells me what she likes and I usually write her a song every week and play it for her,” Lambert says. And all the girls say in unison, Awww!
