Adam Lambert might be new to the whole celebrity singing superstar club, but he thinks he has a few things to share with the current crop of American Idol hopefuls. He’ll get to prove it next week when appears on the show as a celebrity mentor to the Top 8 contestants on Tuesday, April 13th. He’ll also have a chance to showcase his own talents when he performs on American Idol‘s elimination show on Wednesday, April 14th.
“It’s true!” Adam Lambert tweeted on Tuesday. ”In addition to performing on Idol April 14th, I will be mentoring the top 8 on the 13th. I feel honored to be asked.” In the past, American Idol mentors have had much longer successful careers, but this season producers are shaking things up by bringing in younger stars to work with the contestants. Miley Cyrus and Usher have been among this season’s mentors, and Katy Perry, Joe Jonas, and Avril Lavigne have served as guest judges during the audition rounds.
Even though his career is still young, Adam Lambert feels that he has a great deal of wisdom to share with aspiring artists, especially ones that are trying to find success through American Idol. ”Even though I’m just at the start of my recording career, I hope to lend some insight as one who’s been thru the Idol adventure.” Lambert said on Twitter. “Excited!!”
On Wednesday, April 14th, Lambert will perform his single, “Whataya Want From Me,” but he assures fans that there won’t be anything risque in his performance.  ”Don’t worry America,” he tweeted. “I will be beyond family friendly. Relax and enjoy. For Your Entertainment.”
