FOX‘s long-running, hit animated comedy, The Simpsons, is pulling out all the stops for its season finale this May. The cartoon will feature the judges and host from American Idol as guest stars. That’s right. Ryan Seacrest, Ellen DeGeneres, Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, and Randy Jackson have all agreed to voice characters for an episode called “Judge Me Tender.”
The Simpsons’ season finale, which is scheduled to air May 23rd, follows bartender Moe Syzslak’s quest to replace acerbic British judge, Simon Cowell, on the American Idol judging panel. Apparently, Moe’s got quite a knack for discerning talent from crap. When he proves how much talent he possesses, he’s invited to join Ryan Seacrest, Ellen DeGeneres, Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, and Randy Jackson on the set of American Idol.
This won’t be the first time Simon Cowell has allowed himself to be animated for the FOX cartoon. In 2004, Cowell voiced a character named Henry in an episode of The Simpsons titled “Smart and Smarter” about baby Maggie’s genius potential. This will, however, be the first time he’s played himself on the animated sitcom.
