Just days after taking their 19th child home from the hospital, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, stars of 19 Kids And Counting, had to rush little Josie Duggar back to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital when her vital signs began fluctuating dramatically. The parents hurried Josie to the emergency room around 3am on Thursday when her vitals dropped quickly. Keep reading for more details on Josie’s latest hospital visit…
Four months after giving birth to their 19th child, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, stars of 19 Kids And Counting, were thrilled to finally leave the hospital behind and take their baby girl home. Unfortunately, their time at home was short-lived as little Josie Duggar needed to be rushed back to the hospital when her vitals began dropping. ”Dr. Arrington told us to never trust a preemie,” says Jim Bob, referring to Josie’s physician, Dr. Robert Arrington, co-director of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. “That is really true.”
The micropremie was born on December 25th when Michelle was only 25 weeks along in her pregnancy. After spending months in the neonatal intensive care unit, Josie Duggar was finally given the green light to head home with her family on Tuesday, April 6th. Just days later, her parents rushed her back to the hospital. The drop in vital signs is attributed to constipation caused by fortifiers added to the breast milk. The fortifiers were added to help Josie gain weight and grow.
“She’s doing fine now,” says Jim Bob about Josie’s condition. The 19 Kids And Counting stars are relieved, but planning to stay at the hospital for a few days to be cautious. ”They will watch her for a few days to make sure she’s safe.”
