The pressure on American Idol is getting to be too much for one contestant. According to a recent report on TMZ, fan favorite Crystal Bowersox threatened to quit the competition and move back to Ohio to be with her family. If it wasn’t for American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, the dreadlocked singer could be long gone by now.
According to a source, Bowersox walked off the set of the FOX singing competition, threatening to quit altogether. Ryan Seacrest reportedly went after the young singer and had a meaningful talk with her in the studio parking lot. The source claims that Crystal Bowersox blamed the show’s high-pressure competitive environment and all of the unwanted media attention for making her want to go home. Fortunately, the American Idol host convinced Bowersox to stay in the competition instead of returning to her family in Ohio.
The argument Ryan Seacrest used was simple and straightforward: by sticking it out in the competition, Crystal Bowersox could potentially land a recording contract and become a millionaire. According to TMZ, the American Idol host told her,  ”The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house.”
