Despite two scary encounters in the past year, ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews feels safe and protected, especially working on the set of ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars. Although she was the victim of a Peeping Tom last year and recently received death threats, Andrews is grateful to be a part of the reality dance competition and have the support of the cast. She’s especially thankful for partner (and possible love interest), Maksim Chmerkovskiy who she says won’t let anyone near her…
Erin Andrews is thrilled to be a part of ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars, although she admits to being “tentative” about joining the cast. After being the victim of a Peeping Tom who posted nude video of her on the Internet, Andrews wasn’t sure about being a part of such a highly-watched program. But ultimately, she decided to join the dance competition to provide strength and inspiration to other women who have been victimized. “[I wanted to] come and be on a show where millions of people watch and just say, ‘If you’re stalked or a victim of video voyeurism you shouldn’t be embarrassed — you should live your life,’†Andrews said.
Since joining the cast of ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars, Andrews has gained support from the “wonderful family” of her co-stars. She’s also gained the loyalty of two of ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars leading men: her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and fellow competitor, Evan Lysacek. “I’ve got a Russian on my side that isn’t going to let anyone come near me,†Andrews said of Chmerkovskiy, adding “Evan Lysacek said he would take his skating blade for anyone that comes near me.â€
Despite being honest about her reasons for doing the show, Erin Andrews still remains coy about romance rumors with her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. When asked if the pair are dating, she said, “Depends on what day you get us on.â€
