Alison Sweeney, host of NBC‘s The Biggest Loser, has witnessed her fair share of drama and romance in the six seasons she’s worked on the reality TV show. Not surprisingly, this season is no different. A budding romance developed between competitors, Stephanie and Sam, drama was stirred up when contestant Michael reorganized all of the teams, and no one can forget the game-playing manipulation of cast member, Melissa. Alison Sweeney opens up about the tension and twists on this season of NBC‘s The Biggest Loser…
In the six years that she has hosted NBC‘s The Biggest Loser, Alison Sweeney has witnessed a lot so there isn’t too much that surprises her these days. She’s especially unfazed when she witnesses a major game player like the Red team’s Melissa. “At this point, I’m never surprised to see a game player. People watch reality TV, most of our contestants are fans of Biggest Loser before they join the show, and at that point, it’s just a personal choice how to play the game. Melissa chose her path, and that’s totally valid, but it also didn’t surprise me that the others eliminated her when they got the chance,” Alison says.
She also isn’t surprised to witness romances developing on the set of NBC‘s The Biggest Loser. Alison says that everyone knew about Stephanie and Sam’s budding romance. “We all knew they were bonding. They’re super cute together,” she says. When relationships developed on the show evolve into more serious, lasting relationships (as they often have in the past), that isn’t a shock to Alison either. “It’s such a real experience, and people are meeting with a major thing in common — wanting to get healthy and change their lives. And going through such an emotional journey can really bring people together, it forms long lasting friendships, and so it’s no surprise that the couples that find each other on Biggest Loser have a strong, deep connection,” she says.
Also not surprising is the hint at more drama to come on this season of NBC‘s The Biggest Loser. “There are always surprises around every turn.  It’s a reflection of life — you never know what’s going to happen next, and you have to be prepared to handle everything that comes your way,” she says.
