The latest criticism of The Hills‘ star Heidi Montag’s plastic surgery comes from another reality TV star, Dr. 90210. The Beverly Hills plastic surgeon (real name Robert Rey) says he would “never” have done ten plastic surgical procedures on Montag in one day. He also criticizes her choice to undergo so much work and questions the impact it has on her fans…
Dr. Robert Rey, star of the E! reality show Dr. 90210, recently spoke out against the ten plastic surgeries that Heidi Montag, star of MTV‘s The Hills, underwent last November. The doc says he thinks ten surgeries in one day was too much for the reality star. ”I would never have done more than three or four,” Dr. Rey says. He does make it clear, though, that he’s in no way insulting Montag’s surgeon, Dr. Frank Ryan. ”The issue of too many procedures in the operating room have [been debated] and forth, but he is a great surgeon — that’s not the issue,” Dr. 90210 says.
Beyond the ethical dilemma of how many surgeries is too many, Dr. Rey worries what Montag’s plastic surgery says to the young girls who watch her on MTV‘s The Hills. What worries me is the commentary she is making to young girls,” Dr. Rey, who has a 9-year old daughter of his own, says. “My young girl looks up to her and likes her. What message is she sending to young girls?”
At the end of the day though, Dr. Rey recognizes Montag’s decision as one that only she could make. ”What she does is her decision. That’s the beauty of America. It’s a free country,” he says.
