April 21, 2010 09:00 AM by Nancy Floyd

Shayne Lamas received the final rose and a proposal from Matt Grant on ABC‘s The Bachelor, but the pair just wasn’t meant to be. Now Shayne has moved on in a BIG way…by eloping with a total stranger in Las Vegas. Keep reading for more details on the quickie wedding and what Shayne has to say about the couple’s future…

After courting on national television during season 12 of ABC‘s The Bachelor, Shayne Lamas and Matt Grant couldn’t make their engagement work. The couple broke off their relationship a few months after the cameras stopped rolling on the reality dating competition. Shayne’s been an available bachelorette for quite some time now, but another man has taken her off the market. For good.

The Bachelor winner has confirmed that she eloped this weekend in Las Vegas. Shayne married Nik Richie, founder of celebrity site TheDirty.com, at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Vegas. The couple reportedly met on Saturday and married within 24 hours at the same quickie wedding chapel where Britney Spears eloped with childhood pal, Jason Alexander in 2004. (The couple later filed for annulment). Shayne and Nik opted for the $519 “Michael Jordan package” for their nuptials.

Shayne and Nik both confirmed the marriage on their respective Twitter acounts. Nik tweeted a simple “Married” on Monday. Shayne tweeted the word “Wife” on Monday, following it up with another tweet that said, “I am more than happy to confirm last night I got married to an amazing person and we are extremely excited to share our lives together.”
