Niecy Nash’s biggest concern about being a competitor on ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars was losing her “jiggly parts,” but five years ago that was her biggest goal. The comedienne dropped 50 pounds and four dress sizes, going from a size 14 to a six 6. Keep reading for more details on how the actress and mom slimmed down…
On ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars, Niecy Nash is clearly a curvy woman who is secure with her body. While many female celebs are outspoken about their desire to lose weight while competing on the show, Nash expressed the opposite concerns. Dancing was fine, but she didn’t want to lose her “jiggly parts.” But Nash wasn’t always so confident of her figure, namely five years ago when she set out to lose a whopping 50 pounds!
The comedienne’s secret to weight loss success was simple: cut calories and be more active. She focused on portion size, only allowing herself 1,200 calories a day, and began to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle. “I didn’t have a traditional workout plan,†Niecy tells Life & Style magazine. “I have three children, so I couldn’t work two full-time jobs, then come home and go to the gym for two hours. I ate sensibly and would hula-hoop when I watched TV with my kids. We’d go skating on Saturdays, ride our bikes in the neighborhood and have dance contests.â€
The new lifestyle paid off and Nash went from a size 14 to a size 6. Now the Dancing With the Stars competitor fluctuates between a size 8 and 10 and is content with her new body. “All this dancing and running around — I deserve a cookie,†says Nash. “If I ever feel I’m getting too big for my own comfort level, I go back to counting calories.â€
