ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews, currently competing on ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars, was upset over a comment that Elisabeth Hasselbeck made on The View about Andrews’ DWTS costumes. Calling the comment a “slap in the face,” Andrews was outraged that Hasselbeck would make an insulting comment about her recently convicted Peeping Tom stalker. Keep reading for more details on how Hasselbeck has reached out to Andrews with a tearful apology…
Elisabeth Hasselbeck is known for stirring up controversy on her daily talk show, The View, and she certainly offended ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars competitor, Erin Andrews this week when she attacked her costume choices. “In light of what happened and as a legal [matter] — and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room,†Hasselbeck said. “I mean, in some way if I’m him, I’m like, ‘Man! I just could’ve waited 12 weeks and seen this — a little bit less — without the prison time!’â€
She’s referring to Andrews recent victimization by a Peeping Tom stalker who installed a camera in her hotel door and captured nude video footage of the ESPN star which he posted on the internet. Andrews called the statement a “slap in the face,” and now Hasselbeck is reaching out to the  Dancing With the Stars contestant to apologize.
“I promised [my daughter] I would use my words more mindfully, like I try to do, to build people up and not break them down,” Hasselbeck said. Her 5-year old daughter apparently is the one who prompted her to apologize in the first place. “She’s so cute, she said to me, ‘Mommy, why don’t you just call Erin and tell her you’re sorry?’ †Hasselbeck said. “So, thankfully, I listened to her — she’s a wise little girl — and I did. So, I’m really sorry, and I wanted to offer that publicly too, even though I did follow that advice.â€
