Now that she’s been eliminated from ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars, Niecy Nash is rooting for two of her former competitors to win it all: Olympian Evan Lysacek and ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews. Despite the fact that she and partner, Louis van Amstel were ousted this week, fans haven’t seen the last of the curvy comedienne. Niecy talks about her elimination, returning to ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars, and what the experience meant to her…
Comedienne Niecy Nash and dance pro Louis van Amstel were the latest casualties on ABC‘s Dancing With the Stars, being eliminated on Tuesday night’s results show, but they’re not gone for good. Nash is bummed to be eliminated saying, ”I still had another dance left in me.” Fortunately, fans will get a chance to see her strut her stuff once again, on the DWTS finale. ”I’m glad I get to come back and shake a tail feather for the finale – literally and figuratively,” she says.
Her Dancing With the Stars partner, Louis van Amstel, says he’ll miss Nash and all of her “shenanigans, the mayhem, the foolishness.” He adds, “She makes everything fun.” Nash is grateful to have the opportunity to appear on Dancing With the Stars, even though she didn’t take home the mirrorball trophy. ”This was definitely a trying experience — from challenging schedules, to aching body parts, to not seeing my family and to using a part of my brain I’ve never used before,” she says.
Now that she’s out of the running for the grand prize, Nash is planning to cast her votes for two of her former Dancing With the Stars competitors. ”Erin [Andrews] and Evan [Lysacek]!” Nash says. “Both of them! I’ll split my votes.”
