The Hills: Heidi Montag Calls Cops On Her Own Mother

Things have gone from bad to worse in the relationship of The Hills‘ starlet, Heidi Montag, and her mom, Darlene Egelhoff. Last Thursday, Montag called the cops when her mom showed up at her Los Angeles home for a surprise visit. Earlier this season, viewers of MTV‘s The Hills witnessed the tense showdown between Montag and Egelhoff regarding Montag’s recent 10 plastic surgeries. Fans of MTV‘s The Hills have witnessed the deterioration of the relationship between mother and daughter, Darlene Egelhoff and Heidi Montag, over the past few seasons. Their already frail relationship was put to the test earlier this season when Montag visited her mom in Colorado after undergoing 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day. Egelhoff was shocked and upset by Montag’s transformation, resulting in a tense visit and an even more strained relationship.
Things got even worse last week when Egelhoff showed up at Montag’s Los Angeles home (that she shares with husband and fellow star of MTV‘s The Hills, Spencer Pratt). The visit was meant to be a surprise, but Egelhoff was the one in for a shock when Montag called the cops on her. ”My mom showed up unannounced to my house when she knows I have no interest in seeing or talking with her,” Montag told PEOPLE magazine. “She tore my heart out on national television. She is just trying to create drama in my life.”
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the incident. “Officers arrived on the scene and advised the mother that since her daughter’s an adult, she doesn’t have to speak to [the mom] if she doesn’t want to,” LAPD Sgt. Leffew tells PEOPLE. “The mother said ‘fine, no problem’ and left. There were no citations or arrests.”
Montag is doing everything in her power to convey the message that she is through with Egelhoff. ”I made it very clear that I want nothing to do with her in my life right now,” she tells PEOPLE. ”I’m sick to my stomach she would even do something like this. She needs to stay away from me. I’m planning on getting a restraining order against her.”
