Next Monday, viewers can witness Ali Fedotowsky (previously a contestant on The Bachelor) search for love as the star of the new season of ABC‘s The Bachelorette. The reality dating show’s host, Chris Harrison, opens up about Ali’s time handing out roses in what he calls a ‘tumultuous’ season. Keep reading for more details on the drama, the guys, and the exotic locales…
On Monday, May 24th, a new season of ABC‘s The Bachelorette kicks off starring Ali Fedotowsky. The former Facebook employee who vied for Jake Pavelka’s heart on The Bachelor before ditching him to keep her career is back with 25 potential suitors of her own. The Bachelorette host, Chris Harrison, talks about Ali’s challenging season. “Ali’s time as The Bachelorette was tumultuous to say the least. It was a tough run for her,” Harrison says. “In the end, she did a great job and she was a phenomenal Bachelorette. I hate to say it, because I have said it before, but it was one of our best seasons we have ever had. It is a phenomenal season from the storylines, to Ali, to the travel, to the guys.”
According to Harrison, fans of previous seasons of The Bachelorette are definitely in for something new since Ali is “completely and utterly” different than previous Bachelorettes. “Ali is a very independent, emotionally strong, and heart-on-her-sleeve … one thing about Ali is you never wonder what she is thinking. She doesn’t fake it,” Harrison says.
Regarding the 25 suitors, Harrison says they were “a good group of guys overall.” Of course, like in every season of The Bachelorette, there are always a few contestants to stir up drama. “This was a close-knit group, but at the same time, you had guys like Justin, aka ‘Rated R,’ and the weather man from Houston who ruffled some feathers, because when you have a close-knit group and you don’t fit into that mold, just like high school or college, you are quickly shunned. Then it is up to Ali to figure it out,” Harrison says.
One of the things that viewers can expect this season is a lot of traveling. Ali Fedotowsky took her bachelors all around the globe in her quest for love. “We went from L.A. to New York to Iceland….Then over to Turkey and Lisbon,” Harrison says.
