May 23, 2010 07:00 AM by Nancy Floyd

Top Chef host, Padma Lakshmi is a proud mama to 3-month old daughter, Krishna Thea. The model-turned-mommy loves everything about being a parent and is enjoying watching her child grow and develop. Keep reading for more details on Laskhmi’s love of parenting and what a “delight” her daughter is…

It’s only been a little over three months since Top Chef host, Padma Lakshmi welcomed a baby girl, but the model is smitten with daughter Krishna Thea. It seems that everything about parenting is a joy to Lakshmi who says, “I love to rock her to sleep, just to nurse her and hold her.”

Before Krishna’s birth, the single mom called the pregnancy “a medical miracle” due to her long struggle with endometriosis. Fortunately, Krishna was born healthy and happy earlier this year, and the Top Chef host says life has only gotten better since her arrival. “She’s a delight in every way and everything is better with her around,” Lakshmi says.

Although she’s only three months old, Krishna is already growing and changing rapidly and Lakshmi says she’s “eager to see” all of her daughter’s “quirks and idiosyncrasies.” The Top Chef host is also quick to praise her daughter’s uniqueness and individuality. “Her personality is bubbling forth,’ says Lakshmi. “I think we all egotistically say she has the eyes of this person or the humor of that person. I’m sure that’s true but when I look at Krishna, I think of her. I don’t see other people.”
