After months of speculation,Â formerÂ American Idol judgeÂ Paula Abdul has officially announced what her next TV role will be. She’s been named the executive producer, creative partner, and lead judge on Got To Dance, a new reality competition onÂ CBS. She’ll also serve as a mentor and coach to the contestants on the show. Rumors have been flying for months about whatÂ Paula Abdul‘s next career move would be. After serving as a longtime judge onÂ American Idol, Abdul departed the singing competition before the ninth season. Months ago, she hinted that she’d be returning to her roots for an upcoming television project. It turns out that project is the newÂ CBS talent competition, Got to Dance, on whichÂ Paula Abdul will serve as an executive producer, creative partner, lead judge, coach, and mentor.
The reality competition will hold auditions for dancers of all types–as soloists or in groups–across the country. Selected dancers will have the opportunity to appear beforeÂ Paula Abdul and a panel of expert dancers. The best of the best will compete in the semi-finals and finals round before one person or group is deemed the champion.
