Monday night’s episode of ABC‘s The Bachelorette proved to be packed with plenty of drama as the dates began and the men’s personalities clashed. The 17 remaining suitors vying for Ali Fedotowsky’s heart proved to be just as catty as the ladies are on The Bachelor as they moved in with one another and began feuding. The biggest altercation this week was between Craig from Canada and Jonathan (aka “the Weatherman”) who continued to bicker at every possible moment. The Bachelorette host, Chris Harrison, opens up about the ongoing feud and which other bachelor almost knocked Craig out…
On this week’s episode of ABC‘s The Bachelorette, the 17 remaining suitors weren’t only fighting for a rose, they were fighting with each other. Every season needs a resident villain and this year it appears to be Craig from Canada (with the over-styled hair). Craig was sent home during this week’s rose ceremony but not before he had a chance to ruffle some feathers among the other bachelors. Chris Harrison opens up about the feud between Craig and Jonathan (aka “the Weatherman”), as well as his confrontation with tattoo-clad Jesse.
“Let’s talk about Craig M. Yes, he’s that guy in every John Hughes movie (look them up, kids) that stirs the pot. He’s the slick guy that drives the nice car, uses too much hair product and seems like he’s going to get the girl, but after a tough life lesson, he ends up empty handed,” The Bachelorette host says. “I have to admit I was sad to see Craig go so soon. He is such a character he’s almost too good to be true. It was probably for the best because one more night in that house and someone was going to knock him out.”
It turns out that as much as he threatened to, it wasn’t the Weatherman who almost knocked Craig out. It was Jesse. “As tough of a time as Jonathan had with him, it was actually Jesse who almost kicked his butt. Craig made fun of Jesse’s tattoos, which happen to mean a lot to Jesse. Craig then stalked Jesse around the house and wouldn’t leave him alone. Jesse didn’t want to, but he was extremely close to dropping Craig like third-period French. Luckily for Craig, some of the other guys jumped in and calmed the situation down,” Harrison says.
Still, despite the near-brawl between Jesse and Craig, it was the constant antagonizing of the Weatherman that fans witnessed during the episode. “It was Jonathan who really got the brunt of Craig M.,” The Bachelorette host says. ”Craig singled Jonathan out and rode him all week, but it really came to a head when Craig went upstairs and put on Jonathan’s clothes and came back down and did a Weatherman impersonation that all the guys laughed at… all the guys except the Weatherman. He was pissed and told Craig to get the hell away from him.”
It’s not too surprising that Craig didn’t receive a rose and was sent packing this week on The Bachelorette. Still, his presence on the show certainly taught the other guys a lesson. “Tensions were higher than normal heading into the second rose ceremony. These guys realize early on that this isn’t going to be as easy as they thought,” Harrison says.
