Real Housewives of New York City: Bethenny Frankel Thinks Reality TV Is “Not Healthy” For Kelly Bensimon
June 15, 2010 11:00 AM by Nancy Floyd
The feuding between Bethenny Frankel and Kelly Bensimon basically started the second Bensimon joined the cast of Bravo‘s The Real Housewives of New York City last season, but it’s gone to a whole new level this year. When an argument between Bensimon and four fellow housewives got out of hand this season, Bensimon defended her erratic behavior by casting blame on the other women for “systematic bullying.” The former model even went so far as to film an anti-bullying PSA which she posted on YouTube. Bethenny Frankel speaks out about Bensimon’s crazy behavior and how unhealthy it truly is…
Bethenny Frankel and Kelly Bensimon have been at war since season two of Bravo‘s The Real Housewives of New York City, but the cattiness got out of hand during season three. Bensimon defended her crazy and erratic behavior during a recent episode arc where she was seen repeatedly stirring up drama while on a vacation with four of her cast mates (Frankel, Ramona Singer, Alex McCord, and Sonja Morgan). Bensimon puts all the blame on the other housewives, calling them bullies, while Frankel thinks the true problem rests with Bensimon’s mental stability.
“I really feel badly that she’s trying to claw her way out of it with this ‘bullying’ thing,” Bethenny Frankel says. “I honestly don’t think this is the right place for her to be on television. I think she can’t resist being on the show, but it’s really not healthy for her.”
Frankel thinks Bensimon might do better emotionally if Frankel decides to leave the cast of Bravo‘s The Real Housewives of New York City. ”Frankly, if I’m not on the show again, that’ll make it better for her because me being on the show again is certainly not good for her health,” Frankel says. “But I’ve never seen anything like it — and I really did grow up in a crazy town.”
Frankel also questions Bensimon’s motives for displaying such unusual and unpredictable behavior. Bensimon ”wants to be infamous, rather than thinking about what actually is going on with her,” Frankel says.  ”I mean, it gives her a lot of attention, but I would never want that kind of attention. I don’t think it’s healthy.”

I completely agree with Bethenny;
Kelly is just not a good match with
this show (or any other work which
involves her speaking out loud). Kelly
is obviously the one stirring up strife,
and yet she is being allowed to blatantly
LIE about it. I was glad ANDY-from
Bravo repeatedly pointed out that Kelly
was LYING when she kept saying that
Bravo made her go on the trip Ramona
planned. It would have been better if
Kelly had not been allowed to continue
speaking until she admitted that she
was LYING. Instead, Kelly was allowed
to continue her LIES, claiming that she
had been “systematically bullied” which
we all saw was another LIE, standing
up to her LIES is not bullying. Kelly
had no problem shouting out comments
when other people were speaking, yet
when it was her turn to talk, she tried
to pretend that people were “bullying”
her by interrupting. If Kelly is trying
to be famous for being a STUPID LIAR,
she is accomplishing it. There was also
the LIE she told about how Bethenny
supposedly admitted trying to trash
Kelly in the press. Kelly is pretending
to be an innocent girl with morals, what
a joke! People with good morals don’t
think taking their clothes off to pose
for Playboy is an “honor”, moral people
know that is degrading and foolish.
People with good morals also do not
LIE, LIE, and the tell more LIES and
pretend they are telling the truth,
calling someone out on their LIES is
not bullying. It is such a joy to see
the genuine friendships forming
among Alex, Bethenny, Ramona, and
even Sonja, but this has had a bad
shadow cast on it by the presence
of the LIAR Kelly. Even Luann seems
to be starting to realize that Kelly
is a LIAR. At this point I’m not sure
about Kelly, whether she is so stupid
she LIES to cover it, or if she is really
a CON ARTIST pretending to be stupid.
Regardless, Bethenny, your first thoughts
were right on target about Kelly, it is
a bad thing for her to be on RHONY,
bad for the cast, and bad for the viewers!

Bravo needs to make a policy that anyone who gets up and walks out during the reunion show because they claim that can’t take it, must stay out for the rest of the reunion show and not be allowed to return the next season, no exceptions. And no begging people not to leave either, Jill should have just been allowed to leave and stay gone and the same with Kelly, since the previews look like Kelly is pulling the same stunt on part 3, so Andy will beg her to stay. YUCK! We don’t want them to stay and not be confronted with their lies and bad behavior, better that they are just gone, permanently!
