The Bachelorette: Kasey Says There Was ‘No Spark’ With Ali Fedotowsky

June 24, 2010 01:00 PM by Nancy Floyd

Kasey Kahl certainly made an impression on viewers of ABC‘s The Bachelorette for his over-the-top behavior and cheesy quotes. He tried wooing Ali Fedotowsky with impromptu singing, then when she questioned his authenticity, he decided to get a tattoo! Despite being portrayed as a lovesick bachelor (and borderline stalker), Kasey says that there was “no spark” between he and Ali Fedotowsky and he’s not as creepy as the show portrayed him to be…

Kasey Kahl chalks up his portrayal as an intense, lovesick bachelor on ABC‘s The Bachelorette as the crafty work of editors. “I thought [Ali] was pretty, but there was no spark,” Kasey tells InTouch Weekly. “I’m not over-the-top. I didn’t feel like there was a connection. The cameras obviously saw differently.”

One thing the camera certainly caught was Kasey’s decision to get a tattoo in New York City to prove his love to Ali Fedotowsky. After saying all season that he wanted to be the guy to guard and protect her heart, Kasey decided to get a permanent reminder of his promise by getting his wrist inked with a heart, shield, and a rose. Kasey adamantly insists that he didn’t get the tattoo strictly for Ali Fedotowsky, but rather as a symbol of his beliefs and his hope for love in the future. “It’s not like I go around putting girls’ names on my wrist,” Kasey says. “I want someone who wants to guard and protect my heart. I don’t want to settle for anything less.”

Now that he’s out of the running for Ali Fedotowsky’s heart (since getting eliminated on Monday night’s episode of ABC‘s The Bachelorette), Kasey has moved on and found love with someone else. He tells the mag that he has a “sweet and awesome” new girlfriend, Katie. The pair met before Kasey left to film the reality dating competition, but didn’t begin dating until his return. Kasey admits that Katie hasn’t been watching his stint on the show, saying “Obviously, it hurts her a little because no one likes to see a boyfriend go after another girl.”

Despite the fact that he feels he wasn’t accurately portrayed on The Bachelorette, Kasey is grateful for the lessons his reality TV adventure taught him. “The show opened me up to see a lot of things,” Kasey says, “especially how to develop stronger relationships.”
