Since viewers watched the relationship of Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi unfold on ABC‘s The Bachelor, it only makes sense that their split would be televised too, right? That’s the logic Jake Pavelka is using in filming a segment that will air during the July 5th episode of The Bachelorette. Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi reunited on Thursday to film the segment, but things didn’t go as smoothly as planned. Keep reading for more details on the tension, tears, and arguing that took place…
In an effort to give fans (and themselves) some closure to their relationship, Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi have agreed to reunite for a televised special, explaining their split. The couple, who met, fell in love, and became engaged on ABC‘s The Bachelor have called it quits three months after the finale aired and the split is turning into a nasty one. Reps for the show and Bachelor insiders are opening up about the tense reunion that took place on Thursday.
Jake Pavelka decided to film the breakup special (slated to air during an episode of The Bachelorette on July 5th) in hopes of finding some closure from his failed engagement to Vienna Girardi. “Hopefully, it’s gonna be some closure for me,” Jake Pavelka said prior to the filming. “America was there and stood with us at the birth of our relationship, and I think I owe it to them an to myself and Vienna and let everybody be there at the end of it. That everybody understands it was real. And I don’t regret it. I regret what is happening right now. But I don’t regret the decision that I made. I made the best decision on The Bachelor.”
Well it certainly ended up being real! The Bachelor insiders are saying the reunion was tense and tearful, and Vienna Girardi even stormed offstage at one point. Rumors started circulating online that the reunion got physically violent, but reps for The Bachelor deny those claims. Radar Online quoted an insider as saying, “Jake Pavelka exploded in anger at Vienna and at one point during their volatile get-together he turned toward her and pulled his arm back while making a fist. It was a shocking display that left some people believing Jake was getting ready to throw a punch.â€
Reps for the reality show deny claims that any violent behavior took place. “Former The Bachelor participants Jake and Vienna taped an interview last night,” a rep for the show said. “As this was the first time the two had seen one another since their recent breakup, the atmosphere was emotionally charged. However, and contrary to reports that have surfaced about the interview, at no time was anyone ever physically in harm’s way, nor was anyone ever threatened with physical violence.â€
There was, however, a whole lot of drama. A source says that things were certainly tense between the couple (who arrived at the studio separately) and Jake Pavelka was growing visibly frustrated at the way Vienna Girardi continued to talk over him. ”He couldn’t get a word out — it was very reflective of their relationship,” says the source. The source says at one point, Jake Pavelka rose to his feet and asked “Will you just let me finish?” Even Chris Harrison, host of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette had to tell Girardi, “Vienna, let him talk.”
“Vienna was on the defense,” the source tells Us Weekly about Girardi who stormed off the set in tears. “She was trying to play victim.”
