The Bachelor: Jake Pavelka’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Co-Stars Sound Off About Split From Vienna Girardi

June 27, 2010 07:00 AM by Nancy Floyd

Since his split from fiance Vienna Girardi, Jake Pavelka‘s co-stars from another reality TV show, ABC‘s Dancing with the Stars, are speaking up about the couple and their troubled relationship. One of Jake Pavelka’s competitors was absolutely shocked to hear the news, one co-star isn’t too surprised, and another said it was “absolutely predictable.” Keep reading for more details on what Niecy Nash, Edyta Slywinska, and Chelsie Hightower think about The Bachelor‘s breakup…

Those that really knew Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi are speaking out about the couple’s recent breakup. After meeting and becoming engaged on ABC‘s The Bachelor, Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi have called it quits just three months after the relationship went public. Jake Pavelka’s co-stars from another reality TV show, ABC‘s Dancing with the Stars are speaking out about the split.

Niecy Nash, a fellow competitor on season 10 of Dancing With the Stars, was reportedly shocked when she heard the news about Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi’s breakup. Calling them a “fantastic couple,” Niecy Nash says she’s “grieving” about the split. “They were very lovely,” Nash says about Pavelka and Girardi. “My boyfriend and I have double-dated with them. We’re both grieving. We had such a good time together.”

According to Niecy Nash, Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi seemed like the perfect couple. “We worked with them on Dancing with the Stars and they were fantastic [and] cute together,” she says. “When we spent time with them as a couple, they were so much fun to be around.” Since hearing about their split, Niecy Nash says she’s reached out to the pair via email. Her message? “Don’t give up on love! Real love can happen — hang in there.” Nash says. “Hopefully, they got the message.”

While Niecy Nash may have been shocked to hear the news about Jake Pavelka‘s split with Vienna Girardi , his Dancing with the Stars dance pro partner, Chelsie Hightower kinda saw it coming. “I’m not necessarily surprised that they broke up,” Chelsie Hightower says. She speculates whether or not a relationship developed on The Bachelor can really last. ”I think it would be hard to get to know anybody on a reality TV show, to get to know who they really were, with the pressure of the cameras and the other contestants and all the other factors that add into it.”

Despite her lack of surprise, Chelsie Hightower says, “I wish both of them really well. I’ve gotten to know both of them and I think they are both good people and hope that they find better matches for themselves. They have to find people who inspire them to be better than they already are.”

A fellow Dancing with the Stars dance pro wasn’t the least bit shocked about the news. “Come on!” DWTS dance pro Edyta Sliwinska said.  ”They are both wonderful people, but their relationship was built on sandboxes. I mean, there’s no foundation to this relationship. They met on a reality TV show. It’s understandable that under the pressure of the gossips and Hollywood and Dancing With the Stars, they’re going to probably crack. It’s a shame that it’s not a nice breakup, but I think it’s absolutely predictable.”
