After being engaged for seven months,Â Carrie Underwood is now the wife of professional hockey player, Mike Fisher. TheÂ American Idol star wed her longtime beau on Saturday in a beautiful fairy tale wedding in Georgia. The couple exchanged vows before 200+ of their family members and close friends, including a few celebrity pals. American Idol judgesÂ Paula Abdul,Â Randy Jackson,Â andÂ Simon Cowell were reportedly in attendance for the wedding, as were country superstars Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Garth Brooks.
Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher celebrated their wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation, a luxury resort in Greensboro, Georgia (about 75 miles outside of Atlanta). The ceremony took place outside, beside a lake, under a tent. Monique Lhuillier designed Carrie Underwood’s chantilly lace wedding gown, as well as her bridesmaids’ dresses, for the traditional ceremony which included classical music and readings of Carrie and Mike’s favorite Bible passages.
â€œWe could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!â€Â the couple said in a statement which they signed “Mike and Carrie Fisher.”
On Sunday, the newlyweds were spotted in Los Angeles’ LAX airport on their way out of the country for their honeymoon destination. A source says,Â ”They’re going to Bora Bora and Tahiti.”
