Nashville singer/songwriter, Ty Brown, was the latest suitor to get dumped by Ali Fedotowsky on this season of ABC‘s The Bachelorette. During last week’s episode, Ty was sent home in Portugal just barely missing the hometown dates. He opens up about his shocking elimination, his budding music career, and how awkward the 2-on-1 date with Frank really was…

Despite their romantic date in Turkey, Ty Brown and Ali Fedotowsky just couldn’t make things work. Ty, a country singer from Nashville, Tennessee, was the most recent bachelor to be rejected on ABC‘s The Bachelorette. After undergoing a painfully awkward 2-on-1 date with Ali Fedotowsky and fellow competitor, Frank, in Portugal, Ty Brown was sent packing.

“I was shocked and disappointed,” Ty Brown says about the elimination. “No one wants to get let go especially at that stage in the show. But if I was not going to go be the last person there, it was relieving not to get my family involved.” The four guys remaining (Kirk, Frank, Chris L., and Roberto) will each have the opportunity to take Ali Fedotowsky to their hometowns to meet their respective families on tonight’s brand new episode.

Unfortunately for Ty, his last date with Ali Fedotowsky was an uncomfortable 2-on-1 date with Frank. “It was very uncomfortable although not as awkward at the time as it [looked on TV],” Ty says about the date. “We tried to make the best of it and make her comfortable. That’s hard to do. We knew there wasn’t going to be a rose. It was more about who was going to get more alone time with Ali. Frank and I were the worst two people to go together. We get along, but I knew she had a strong connection with first-date Frank. And he made a comment that Ty’s my biggest competition.”

Ty received a little bit of flak this season for being the guy to pull out his guitar and sing to Ali Fedotowsky and now that the show is over, it should come as no surprise that he’s decided to pursue music full-time. “This gave me the opportunity to do something that I’m passionate about — to give music 150 percent instead of just dabbling,” Ty says. “I’ve been playing for 10 years and I want people to know Ty Brown, not Ty Brown from The Bachelorette. But the show has given me a platform and opened a lot of doors for me. When I finished the song I wrote on the show, it was amazing to see people jump on board saying, ‘This is a great song. You’ve got a great story with this.’”

As for his future, Ty Brown is open to all of the possibilities, even potentially becoming the next Bachelor. “It’d be very exciting and I’m ready to move on with my life,” he says. “Watching what Ali struggled with, I know it would be tough but I’d consider it.”

This insipid show makes me sick. And women like Ali are the reason why. The whole concept of the show is fake and contrived. How can you possibly get to know these people under these phony, contrived circumstances? developing a relationship takes time, commitment, and focus. going out with 15 other guys is dating, not a relationship. It just ends up being confusing and unnatural because it isn’t the way people usually meet and develop a friendship. The whole concept is phony and unrealistic.
