On Monday night’s episode of  ABC‘s The Bachelorette, Ali Fedotowsky visited Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Florida, and Illinois on hometown dates with her four remaining suitors. After an awkward visit to Kirk DeWindt’s dad’s basement to see his taxidermied animal collection, Ali Fedotowsky opted not to give Kirk a rose. Keep reading for more details on Kirk DeWindt’s reaction to being eliminated and if he thinks his family had anything to do with it…
Kirk DeWindt was the lastest casualty on this week’s episode of ABC‘s The Bachelorette. He made it to the hometown dates, along with Chris L., Roberto, and Frank, but after a visit to his hometown in Wisconsin, Ali Fedotowsky let him go. Despite the fact that his family was a tad unusual, Kirk admits he was really surprised to be sent home.
“I actually thought it went very well to be honest with you,” Kirk DeWindt tells Digital Spy about the hometown visit. “Obviously my dad’s basement and the taxidermy thing threw a lot of people off, but as far as how she interacted with my family, I thought that went really well and we’d gotten closer together. I was actually less worried about this Rose Ceremony than I was the previous one. I thought we were in a pretty good place and I truthfully thought I’d continue on.”
Despite the fact that it didn’t work out for he and Ali Fedotowsky, Kirk DeWindt believes that two people can truly find love on The Bachelorette. “Obviously the dates are out of the ordinary and it sets you up very well to be in these romantic settings and elaborate places, but I can say that Ali and I developed a real relationship,” Kirk says. “Aside for the dates being set up, everything happens as it does and real relationships are formed and I can attest to that. I imagine if I had continued on the journey, our relationship would have gotten stronger, so I do believe you can build a real relationship on the show.”
Now that he’s been eliminated from the dating competition, Kirk DeWindt weighs in one which guy he thinks Ali Fedotowsky will end up with. “At the back of my mind I always thought it was Frank – obviously I’ve seen the previews and that’s changed my mind on that,” Kirk says, hinting towards the upcoming scandal in which Frank leaves Ali Fedotowsky in Tahiti to reunite wit his ex-girlfriend. “Between Chris and Roberto, I couldn’t even tell you. I couldn’t say who was more compatible with her. They are both stand up guys,” Kirk says.
