Wife Swap: McLeish And O’Dell Families

Tonight on ABC, we finally got a new episode of Wife Swap after a break. This week we met two families both from New York but from completely different worlds. Hear what happens when an etiquette school teacher swaps lives with a woman who teaches her tomboy daughters that is it okay to belch and play in the mud. Keep reading for all the details!
First up on Wife Swap on ABC we met the McLeish family. Mom, Rosa runs an etiquette school while her husband Nyron is Mr. mom doing all the household duties. Their two daughters must remain primped and proper and are only allowed to wear dresses as Rosa feels a first impression is very important. The girls must use proper etiquette in everything they do, even around the house, and they get graded on it once a week by Rosa! For social etiquette, Rosa takes the girls to music class and cheerleading, and that is about as far as their fun goes.
In another section of New York, we met the O’Dell family on Wife Swap on ABC. Mom, Sandy does all the household chores, as well as works all day in her husband’s shop cleaning and doing all the billing. Her husband, Kelly believes that chores are the woman’s duties and he does none of them. Their two teenage daughters are complete tomboys who are taught that appearances mean nothing and belching for fun is perfectly normal. For fun, the family races in the mud and then the girls just slosh around in the mud, even competing in mud pageants!
The swap was a complete nightmare for both families. In the McLeish home, Nyron and Sandy spent most of their time butting heads instead of accomplishing anything. Sandy spent her time following all of Rosa’s rules even though it killed her to see the children having absolutely no fun. When it was her turn for rules change, Nyron was not having any part of her rules and even told the girls they could not play in the mud when Sandy tried to have fun with them. After seeing them in tears though, Nyron did allow them to play in the mud for a short while, but when Sandy tried to take them mud racing, Nyron threw a tantrum, took the kids and sped off. When Sandy tried to confront him about it, all he did was belittle her and call her names, claiming that he looked down upon her. Before she left however, she did manage to get him to agree to let the girls have a “no etiquette” party in which Nyron himself seemed to have a alot of fun as well!
Back at the O’Dell household on Wife Swap on ABC Rosa was not having any part of playing in the mud and got annoyed at the girls when they tried to get mud on her. She and Kelly managed to butt heads as well, more so when it was her rules and she tried to get them to practice proper etiquette. Kelly wound throwing the clothes that Rosa bought them into the fireplace and burning them, and he blew up when she tried to get them to learn cheerleading by actually pounding the door with his first, injuring his wrist. In the end, Rosa and Kelly did manage to find some common ground and get along which led to a very enjoyable dance with the girls in which Kelly had just as much if not more fun than the girls did!
The table meeting went as good as everything else for these families as both families collided in their thoughts and Sandy let Rosa know how upset she was that she was disrespected by Nyron. Rosa did not seem bothered by this and went on to say that she and Kelly did manage to find some common ground. After the swap, nothing changed much for the O’Dell family except for Kelly showing more appreciation for Sandy and all she does. At the McLeish home, the girls are now allowed to wear casual clothes a little more and the family is enjoying more fun family time. I guess it was a successful swap afterall!
