The Bachelorette: Chris Harrison Discusses Ali Fedotowsky’s Hometown Dates & the Upcoming Drama With Frank

July 17, 2010 01:00 PM by Nancy Floyd

Ali Fedotowsky’s search for love is almost over on this season of ABC‘s The Bachelorette! After an emotional episode last week in which Ali made hometown visits with Kirk, Roberto, Chris L., and Frank, she’s off to Tahiti next week with her top three guys. Of course, what would this show be without a little drama? The previews (and spoilers) indicate that things are about to get really complicated (and end) for Ali Fedotowsky and frontrunner Frank. The Bachelorette‘s host, Chris Harrison dishes on the hometown dates and the drama with Frank in Tahiti…

Ali Fedotowsky has narrowed the playing field down to three suitors on this season of ABC‘s The Bachelorette. Last week, she visited Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Florida, and Illinois on hometown dates with Kirk, Roberto, Chris L., and Frank. Host Chris Harrison loves the hometown dates episode because of the realness it brings to the competition and the relationships.

“I love the hometown episodes because it takes the show in a completely different direction,” Chris Harrison tells TV Guide. “When you involve families, it just changes it. All of a sudden you are exactly who you are in life, which is a good thing. Up until hometowns we’re all travelling together, staying in the same hotel and there’s some sort of camaraderie to the whole thing. Hometowns change everything because not only do you introduce your family, but you’re separated. The only time they see each other from here on out is at rose ceremonies.”

Next up, Ali Fedotowsky is taking Chris L., Roberto, and Frank on romantic overnight dates in Tahiti, but of course, they won’t go off without at least a little bit of drama. As seen in the previews, Frank arrives in Tahiti with some bad news for Ali Fedotowsky. We’re hearing that he gets back together with his ex-girlfriend and travels to Tahiti to break things off with Ali Fedotowsky. Host Chris Harrison insists that there’s more to the story.

“Like with Justin, if you think you know everything, and you think you’ve seen everything, you haven’t,” Chris Harrison hints. “That’s why we weren’t too worried about showing that something is coming because it’s something you have to see, something you’re going to want to hear and you have to experience to know what’s happened. It’s almost less about Frank and Ali and more about how it shapes the rest of our show.”

Ali has proven to be the most boring bachelorette ever….who picks these people. Her fake laugh is like fingers on a chalk board. As for Jake….these people should be vetted before being placed on tv and treating him like some golden boy. I hope to never see him on tv again. It is no wonder he had no girlfriend…women do not deserve to be treated that way…. and as for Vienna…way too much negativity for that girl. If nothing else you could see pure honesty about how Jake treated her.
