On tonight’s new episode of NBC‘s Last Comic Standing, three aspiring comics are eliminated from the competition. The top 7 finalists take the stage to deliver new hilarious stand-up routines. Keep reading for more details on which comedians were sent home and how the remaining finalists performed…
On tonight’s new episode of NBC‘s Last Comic Standing, three comics are eliminated from the competition. The Last Comic Standing judges, Andy Kindler, Natasha Leggero, and Greg Giraldo are back for tonight’s episode as the top 7 finalists perform another stand-up routine for a live audience. After last week’s stand-up routines, America voted and the first comedian being sent home is Jason Adomian.
After Jason’s elimination, Mike DeStefano takes the stage to perform another hilarious routine. Andy Kindler calls Mike DeStefano “frightening and hilarious,” Natasha Leggero thinks the routine was excellent, and Greg Giraldo called it a great set. Roy Wood, Jr. performs next and wins over both the crowd and the judges with his hilarious set and excellent delivery.
Myq Kaplan is the next comedian to deliver some jokes. His routine starts out a bit shaky and he seems nervous, but all in all, his routine is solid and hilarious. All three judges give Myq rave reviews for his funny performance. Greg Giraldo sums up Myq Kaplan perfectly: “A lot of funny in a little package.” I concur.
Before any more comics perform, it’s time to learn the second comedian being eliminated tonight. America didn’t have enough love for single mom Laurie Kilmartin so she’s sent packing. After the results, Rachel Feinstein takes the stage to deliver her set. Once again, she incorporates a lot of voices and impersonation into her routine and the judges all love her.
Tommy Johnagin is up next and not surprisingly, he’s hilarious. Natasha Leggero loves him, Greg Giraldo thought it was great, and Andy Kindler talks nonsense, but I think it’s all supposed to be complimentary. Personally, my money is on Tommy Johnagin to win. He’s cute and funny. What more could you want? Felipe Esparza performs next and as always relies heavily on his Mexican heritage for material. The crowd loves Felipe as do the judges. Greg Giraldo likes Felipe’s originality and Andy Kindler thinks Felipe is lovable.
The final elimination comes down to Jonathan Thymius and Maronzio Vance. Shockingly, the comedian going home tonight is Maronzio Vance. WHAT?! How did Jonathan Thymius get votes?! I’m so confused. In any case, he takes the stage next and actually delivers his first joke within five minutes. That’s a big step for him. His routine tonight is much less awkward than last week, although I’m still not convinced this guy is that funny. His last joke of the night (an impersonation of his friend, Marty) is actually pretty hilarious. Over all, the judges enjoy his unique and awkward performance.
Tune into NBC next Monday night as two more comedians are eliminated and the top 5 finalists perform!
