So You Think You Can Dance: Nigel Lythgoe & Mia Michaels Defend Decision Not To Eliminate Anyone

Fans were in for a shock on Thursday night’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance when the judges decided not to eliminate anyone. Despite the fact that Billy was injured and unable to compete this week, the judges decided to give him another week in the competition, along with fellow dancers, Jose and Robert, who were also in the bottom three. Nigel Lythgoe and Mia Michaels defend the decision to keep all the dancers for another week and they weigh in on who they think will make it to the finale…
On Thursday night’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance, Billy, Jose, and Robert were in bottom three and had to dance for their lives. Surprisingly, after returning from deliberation, the judges decided to keep all three guys around for another week. This means, of course, that two dancers will be eliminated on next week’s show.
“It was an awesome decision,†resident judge Mia Michaels tells People magazine.  “We couldn’t figure it out. We were all stumped for different reasons.†Since Robert, Jose, and Billy were given another shot, Mia Michaels hopes they’ll step it up. “We’re going to see the boys from the men,†she says.
Nigel Lythgoe was a bit surprised to see Robert in the bottom three this week after delivering two amazing routines on Wednesday night’s episode. “This week it was only the numbers question,†Nigel Lythgoe said. “Someone was going to be in the bottom three and it was Robert. He absolutely has the opportunity to come through.â€
Ultimately, Nigel Lythgoe thought this week’s results show was a good predictor of the finale.  “In truth, AdeChike, Kent and Lauren will probably be the finale three,†he said. “Robert, Billy and Jose are really going to have to step up.â€
