July 25, 2010 07:00 AM by Nancy Floyd

Name calling doesn’t get Jersey Shore star, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi down. In fact, it boosts her self-confidence. The reality TV starlet and self-proclaimed Guidette doesn’t mind other people’s negativity because she thinks it merely represents their jealousy of her. Keep reading for more details on why Snooki gets off on being called names and why she thinks the rest of the cast envies her…

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, star of Jersey Shore, isn’t losing any sleep over the negativity she receives from viewers and critics of the MTV reality show. Whenever people mock her for her orange skin, less-than-average height, or big hair pouf, she just chalks it up to jealousy. ”The negative stuff? I get off on it,” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi recently told Rolling Stone magazine. ”Because the only reason why people talk negative is because they’re jealous. Every time they call me a midget, Oompa-Loompa, orange, they’re just jealous. It makes me want to be more ridiculous and more stupid.”

It’s not only viewers of Jersey Shore that Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi thinks are jealous. She assumes all of her cast mates feel the same way. She says that the entire cast is jealous of the fact that she’s gotten more opportunities. Ultimately though, she thinks their jealousy is unfair and unwarranted.  Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi says when it comes to opportunities, she “control those things. The media isn’t asking for the others so they can’t really be mad at me.”
