Keep reading for more details on tonight’s episode…
One more comic is eliminated on tonight’s episode of NBC‘s Last Comic Standing. After introducing the Last Comic Standing judges, Andy Kindler, Greg Giraldo, and Natasha Leggero, host Craig Robinson doesn’t waste any time delivering the results. The first comic who is safe tonight is Jonathan Thymius. After a brief video offering background on Jonathan Thymius’ life outside of the show, he takes the stage for the first standup routine of the night. He’s so weird and awkward, but he manages to garner a lot of laughter from the crowds. Andy Kindler has nothing but praise for Jonathan Thymius, but Greg Giraldo thinks this definitely wasn’t his best performance.
The next comedian to learn his fate from last week’s voting is Roy Wood, Jr. He’s safe for another week and will be performing tonight. As always, his routine is hilarious and a total crowd-pleaser. Natasha Leggero loves him, Greg Giraldo calls the set “killer,” and Andy Kindler claims to love Roy Wood, Jr. more than the other judges.
After finding out he’s safe for another week, Myq Kaplan is the next comic to take the stage. Prior to his routine, he plays a humorous song that he wrote about himself and his love of comedy. His routine hits on everything from divorce to crappy movies and the crowd loves it. All three judges sing his praises as well, commending him on his excellent joke-writing ability.
Next, Craig Robinson announces that Tommy Johnagin is also safe. Before he takes the stage, Tommy’s background video airs and it’s a brilliant play on the fact that he’s from the Midwest. As if that’s not enough to make me want to call in to vote for him, he delivers a solid and hilarious standup routine which all three judges rave about.
Mike DeStefano managed to earn enough votes last week so he’s the next comedian to perform. His tough-guy persona is funny and edgy. The crowd loves his routine which manages to promote both drug use and murder (in funny ways, of course) and the judges have nothing but compliments for the Bronx comedian.
It’s time to announce the final contestant who will be safe for another week. It’s down to Felipe Esparza and Rachel Feinstein. The comic performing tonight is…..Felipe Esparza, which means that Rachel has been eliminated. No more funny voices and granny impressions for America. Felipe Esparza takes the stage. Naturally, his routine plays heavily on his Latino heritage, but the crowd and judges seem to love him.
