Survivor: Nicaragua began filming a few weeks ago and we’ve got the inside scoop on this season’s two competing tribes. The 21st season of the hit reality TV show will return to CBS on September 15th with exciting new drama, alliances, and challenges. Filming for the new season is currently underway in San Juan del Sur, one of the most popular travel and vacation sites in the entire nation of Nicaragua.
For Survivor: Nicaragua, the two tribes will be divided by age. This is the first time in the show’s history that the competitors have been split up using this method. According to CBS, the twenty castaways are divided into two tribes of ten players each. The Espada tribe is made up entirely of castaways over the age of 40, while the La Flor Tribe’s competitors are all under the age of 30. The tribe names are Spanish words for “sword” (espada) and “flower” (la flor). At least one recognizable face will be present on this season of the reality competition: former Dallas Cowboys coach, Jimmy Johnson.
The premiere of Survivor: Nicaragua will debut on its new night on Wednesday, September 15th. Will youth and vigor prove to be more powerful than experience and wisdom when it comes to outlasting, outwitting, and outplaying?
