Newlyweds Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher can’t stop gushing about one another! After three weeks of marriage, the couple opens up about their extravagant wedding, relaxing honeymoon, and exciting married life. Keep reading for more details on how the American Idol star likes being a married woman and what Mike Fisher thought about their special day…
It’s been three weeks since American Idol star Carrie Underwood tied the knot with professional hockey player, Mike Fisher. After enjoying an eight-day honeymoon in Bora Bora and three days together in Napa Valley, the happy couple is now hundreds of miles apart. While she’s performing in Nashville, he’s returned to Canada where his team, the Ottawa Senators, is based. Carrie Underwood joked about their separation in a recent blog post.
“I’m a married lady now!” Carrie Underwood blogged on Wednesday. “Married life is pretty much like dating life. My husband is back in Canada…story of my life!” All joking aside, Carrie Underwood is elated with life as a married woman and is grateful for her amazing wedding and honeymoon. ”I know how blessed I am,” she says. “I know how special these things are. There is nothing in the world that I could possibly ask for because you can’t add to perfection!”
Mike Fisher raves about the wedding ceremony and honeymoon, as well. ”The whole weekend is almost like a blur,” he said of the wedding. “The ceremony was really nice, the pastor did a great job, the reception was a lot of fun. Just to have everyone close to us around was a big deal. A wedding’s not nearly as much fun without those close family and friends with you.” All in all, he says, ”The whole day was great. It was everything we both wanted it to be.”
As for their Tahitian honeymoon, Mike Fisher says, ”We had an awesome time…It was the longest time she’s had off in the last five years. That was probably the longest time I’ve ever been away, too. We had so much fun.” And despite being hundreds of miles apart from his new wife, Mike Fisher has nothing but great things to say about married life. “I’m with my best friend and I love her to death,” he said. “There’s nothing better, for sure.”
