He didn’t receive the final rose on last night’s finale of ABC‘s The Bachelorette, but Chris Lambton is definitely not bitter about it. In fact, he thinks Ali Fedotowsky “made the right choice” by picking Roberto Martinez over himself. He opens up about Ali’s shocking decision to let him go before their final date, his newfound fame, what he really thinks about Roberto, and whether or not he might be the next Bachelor…
Chris Lambton may not have won Ali Fedotowsky’s heart on this season of ABC‘s The Bachelorette, but he certainly won the love and adoration of millions of fans. “People come up to me and they have nothing but positive things to say to me,” he says. “I can’t believe how far this show goes. I went down to the beach for a swim with my brother and my Dad. I’m coming out of the water and all of a sudden like half the beach is surrounding me, taking pictures for like half an hour. My brother and father were laughing at me. I’m posing with babies and stuff. I’m not a celebrity and I cannot believe this is happening to me. It’s very surreal.”
Those same fans were crushed on Monday night’s finale of The Bachelorette when Ali Fedotowsky broke Chris Lambton’s heart in Bora Bora, choosing to accept a proposal from Roberto Martinez instead. Despite the heartache, Chris Lambton says Ali “made the right choice for her and me as well.” And, as hard as it is to believe, he’s actually grateful to Ali Fedotowsky, especially for breaking the rules and dumping him before their last date. “I was blown away by how gracious she was doing that,” Chris says. “If I had gone on a date with her I would have fallen more in love with her.”
Despite the fact that America has clearly chosen sides between Team Chris and Team Roberto, Chris himself says there’s no animosity between the two guys whatsoever. “Everyone is pitting Roberto against Chris and meanwhile the two of us are very good friends,” Chris says. “We talk multiple times a week and I know the three of us will probably hang out a lot.”
There are rumors circulating that America might get to see a lot more of Chris Lambton if he accepts the job to be The Bachelor. “It’s something that I’d have to think long and hard about,” he says about the possibility. “Just seeing myself on TV and talking about such personal things, it’s really hard to see that and have people know so much about me.”
Regardless of what happens, Chris Lambton is grateful for his experience on The Bachelorette and what it taught him. “Everything happens for the right reason,” he says about the outcome. “That just means there’s someone out there even better for me.â€
