The Real Housewives Of DC: DC Stands For Drama Capitol In The Season Premiere!

August 05, 2010 07:47 PM by Jennifer

Tonight on the season premiere of The Real Housewives of DC on Bravo, we meet five new ladies who prove there’s alot more than politics going on in DC! Keep reading to hear all about the newest Housewives!

Let’s meet the newest housewives! First we have Stacie Scott Turner, a real estate agent with a definite attitude about who you know, what you know and where you live in DC. She has a husband named Jason, and two young children. Lynda Erkiletian runs the top modeling agency in Washington, DC, with very elite clients. She has been married twice and has four kids, and also has a boyfriend named Ebong. Michaele Salahi is a tall, thin blond who looks like she has no brains, but she surprises you when she speaks. She is married and her husband owns a winery, and they live in Virginia. Next we have Mary Schmidt Amons, who grew up in DC and frequented the Kennedy Estate as a child.  Last, but not least, there’s Cat Ommanney, who grew up in London, has a heavy British accent. Her husband Charles is the White House photographer, one of the best in America. She is in the process of writing a book about her life, and is adjusting with her two children to life in DC.

Okay, I have to admit, when I saw the previews for The Real Housewives of DC on Bravo, the first thing I thought was oh no, this is going to be more of
a show about politics than about the usual drama we see on the other Housewives series. Boy was I wrong. When the ladies (except for Lynda) attend an event called a Polo Cup, and Michaele’s husband is one of the polo players. She and Cat get along really well, and being the new girl in town Michaele wants to make sure Cat doesn’t feel alone.

Michaele is like the social butterfly around the party, but she has like a five minute attention span before she is on to someone else. But that night, after the party, Lynda and Mary are discussing Mary’s birthday party, and she is reluctant to invite Michaele. They have known each other for very long time (there seems to be some story here, drama perhaps?). But she is eager to
have both Cat and Stacie attend. As she is getting ready for the party, we find out that Mary actually has a biometric lock on her closet door so her daughter does not steal her clothes. After she gets dressed, Mary has a change of heart and calls Michaele and invites her at the last minute. Her daughter says she is the type that doesn’t want anyone left out.

When all of the ladies arrive for the party, Lynda notices that Michaele is there, and makes a comment about how they should not invite second tier people to events. She doesn’t consider Michaele to be upper class, and she also makes a comment that Michaele looks frail and thin. While at the party, Stacey realizes she is sitting next to famous hairstylist Ted Gibson, and they hit it off. This starts Mary talking about how salons should be integrated now that we have an African American president, and Stacie brushes it off as Mary being a little tipsy.

The next day on The Real Housewives of DC on Bravo, Stacie is planning a cooking class with Janet Jackson’s chef, and she invites Cat to come. She said she would invite Michaele, but she probably wouldn’t eat. I think we are getting a glimpse at who is going to have the target on their back this season.
Mary’s husband was chosen as a style trendsetter for a local magazine, who’s editor is one of Mary’s friends. But when he receives his award from the magazine, they pronounce his name wrong. Lynda was there and also received an award as a trendsetter, and her friend Paul asked her why she was not at the Polo Cup, and although she claims to love Michaele, she seemed to snub her nose at it. She also goes on to say that she is all bones, and she thinks someone needs to speak with her about it. Paul who also happens to be a stylist, is fitting Michaele for clothes and he brings up Mary’s concerns about her weight. That did not go over well, and Michaele said she should mind her own business.

As the night of Stacie’s cooking class arrives, Cat shows Stacie pictures that her husband took of the Vice President. Stacie asks to hear the story of how they met, when Cat tells them they dated briefly years ago, and he left her life, then drifted back in a year ago. They are intrigued that her husband is the White House photographer and gets to see Obama. then Stacie asks the chef who else he cooks for, and he says Tyra Banks, and Cat says that she would not want to do anything for Tyra Banks, and Stacie got a little offended. The women took her talking about her husband as her way of trying to steal the attention of everyone in the room. She also implied that George Bush was a better president than Obama, which pissed the women off. Then they get into a little argument about Cat bashing Obama and Tyra Banks, who Stacie points out both happen to be African Americans. But Cat seems to be a straight shooter, and tell it like it is, and Stacie is just not feeling it.

I see trouble brewing already, don’t you? Looks like ti will be an interesting season of The Real Housewives of DC on Bravo!!
